NauticEd SLC - International Bareboat Charter License
NauticEd SLC has earned widespread recognition from sailing authorities worldwide. The program aligns with the International Proficiency Standards set by the United Nations International Maritime Organization (IMO). This recognition ensures that sailors holding an SLC from NauticEd are considered proficient and competent sailors globally.
Do I need an SLC License?
If you are planning to charter a boat outside of the United States and the Caribbean, you will likely be required to present an International Sailing License. The NauticEd International Bareboat Charter License - SLC, is widely recognized by many countries and charter companies, making it easier for sailors to charter boats and explore new sailing destinations.

Bareboat Charter Master & SLC Assessment
Students looking to obtain a NauticEd Bareboat Charter Master with SLC - International Sailing Credential - are required to demonstrate their skills during an on-water assessment. The assessment takes about 6-8 hours (depending on the number of participants), on board a boat provided by the instructor or by the student (see notes below). The assessment will take place on board the boat while docked in the marina (or moored) and underway, as well as a written exam on navigation and rules of the road.
